George Balanchine’s timeless masterpiece Serenade opens the program with sweeping grace and emotional depth – an audience favorite that has shaped MCB’s artistic heart. Balanchine’s exuberant Tarantella follows, bursting with joy, speed, and virtuosic flair.
At the heart of the program is a powerful new work by Alexei Ratmansky, created in honor of Miami City Ballet’s visionary founder Toby Lerner Ansin. Roses from the South, Three Waltzes for Toby blends classical tradition with fresh, imaginative choreography. This World Premiere is both a tribute and a celebration of legacy, artistry, and the joy of dance.
