Young Dancer Intensive
Ages 9 – 14For Students ages 9-14. Audition required.
Miami City Ballet School offers a two-week intensive designed for dedicated young dancers who are seeking a challenging summer dance program. Students ages 9 and up study with MCB’s renowned faculty to experience the highest quality of dance education. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to be exposed to MCB School’s curriculum and experience first-hand what it is like to train at Miami City Ballet School.
The Young Dancer Intensive program consists of a carefully designed curriculum to support each technical level providing the highest caliber of training in a creative and artistic environment.
Students participate in a well-rounded selection of classes based on their technical level. Classes are held five days per week (Monday through Friday). On the first day of the program, all students participate in a level placement class and program orientation. Students can expect up to 20 hours of dance instruction per week (each week may vary with the schedule).

During these two – weeks, young dancers will find themselves immersed in an environment that fosters artistry, a joy of movement, and respect for one another, while demanding dedication, focus, and hard work. Through this dedicated training, these young students experience growth, improvement, and confidence in their dancing.
Please note that students must commit to the entirety of the program.
At the conclusion of the Young Dancer Intensive, students who demonstrate exceptional talent, potential and commitment are invited to join MCB School’s year-round training program in our Student Division.

MCBS NEW RESIDENCE HALL (age 12+) includes lunch and dinner
The Miami City Ballet School Residence Hall is located at 224 23rd St., Miami Beach, FL 33139, occupying the second floor of The Anamar at Collins Park, adjacent to the Miami City Ballet (a one-minute walk to MCBS studios).
For students ages 12 and up (students must turn 12 by move-in day), each two or three-bedroom suite features bunk beds, a living room, 2-3 bathrooms, and closet space. Each ‘suite’ is fully furnished, with the following: Sofa, Chairs, Desk, Mid-sized Refrigerator, Microwave, Dressers, Entertainment Center, Vanity. Additional amenities outside of the suite include: laundry facility, communal kitchen/student lounge (television, refrigerators, microwaves, seating), large ice machine, trash room, private study room, and wireless internet.
The residence features a large community room for meals, socializing, and various activities. Lunch and dinner are provided, Mon – Sat., for the ultimate in living ease, security, and proximity.
The facility provides 24-hour building security, a full-time Housing Manager, and a Residence Assistant who are available around the clock to meet our students’ needs during the 2-week program.
Throughout each of our summer programs, we aim to build community and harbor a safe, inclusive, and accepting environment for all our students. Activities are specially curated to engage students and build camaraderie and lasting friendships. A Saturday excursion will be planned for housing students to have an opportunity to experience the rich arts, culture, sounds, and vistas of beautiful Miami.
