Summer Intensive
JUNE 22 - JULY 24, 2026

Summer Intensive

Ages 12+
2200 Liberty Ave Miami Beach

For students ages 12 and up. Audition required.

Miami City Ballet School offers an intensive five-week training program geared towards serious ballet students ages 12 and up who have a passion for dance and are ready to achieve a new level of artistic excellence.

Each year, our 63,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility welcomes dancers, selected from across the United States and abroad. Over the course of five weeks, students will train under MCB School Artistic Director Arantxa Ochoa, MCB School faculty members, MCB Principal dancers, and world-renowned guest teachers.

Our dance training pedagogy is truly distinctive to MCBS, retaining traditional methods of classical ballet while integrating the dynamic and technical aesthetic of the Balanchine style.  We believe in developing the whole individual in a healthy and stimulating environment.

Summer Students participate in a well-rounded selection of classes.
Some of these classes include the following: (classes vary by level).

  • Ballet Technique
  • Pointe
  • Repertory
  • Pas de Deux
  • Men’s & Women’s Variations
  • Contemporary
  • Stretch & Strength
  • Pilates

Classes are held Monday through Saturday. Students can expect up to 20 hours of dance instruction per week (each week may vary with the schedule).

On the first day of the program, students will participate in a level placement class and program orientation.

At the conclusion of the Summer Intensive, students who demonstrate exceptional talent, potential, and commitment are invited to join MCB School’s year-round training program in our Student or Pre-Professional Divisions.

To be part of our Summer Intensive Program, students must audition during our Summer Audition Tour or send in an audition video.

Please note that students must commit to the entirety of the program.
