Choreographic Intensive

Choreographic Intensive

Ages 14+
MCB Studio & Headquarters 2200 Liberty Ave Miami Beach

For students age 14+. Audition required.

The Choreographic Intensive is a unique, two-week summer program providing a select group of students ages 14 and up the exclusive opportunity to have work created on and for them by new and established choreographers. Students experience first-hand what it’s like to learn and perfect a work created on and for them and to work daily in a professional dance atmosphere.

During these two weeks, students have a daily technique class with MCB faculty, followed by a full day of rehearsals with the choreographers. The program culminates with a fully produced performance to premiere the new pieces that have been created. The program concludes with a fully produced performance in our Lynn & Louis Wolfson II black box theater located at MCB Studios 2200 Liberty Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33139.

Please note that students must commit to the entirety of the program.

At the conclusion of the Choreographic Intensive, students who demonstrate exceptional talent, potential and commitment are invited to join MCB School’s accomplished year-round training program in our Pre-Professional Divisions.

To be part of our Choreographic Intensive Program, students must audition during our Summer Audition Tour or send us your audition video.

Housing and Student Life

NEW THIS YEAR!

Miami City Ballet School is pleased to offer housing for ages 12+ in our brand-new facility, just a one-minute walk across the plaza from MCBS studios.

Each dormitory unit houses up to four (4) students and is fully furnished. The residence offers a large community room with a fully equipped kitchen. The facility provides 24-hour building security, a full-time Housing Manager and Residence Assistant who is available around the clock to meet our students’ needs during the 2-week program.

Throughout each of our summer programs, we aim to build community and harbor a safe, inclusive, and accepting environment for all our students. Activities are specially curated to engage students and build camaraderie and lasting friendships.  Excursions are offered throughout the summer to take advantage of the rich arts, culture, sounds and vistas of beautiful Miami.

This new facility will be completed in March 2025. Details coming soon!

Important to note: Students will receive lunch Mon. – Sat. Other meals can be prepared in the fully equipped kitchen.
