Dawn Atkins has established herself as a prominent figure in the American ballet scene, earning widespread recognition for her artistry and technical prowess through performances at prestigious galas and on major stages across the country. As a principal dancer with Miami City Ballet, Atkins has captivated audiences in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach, Florida, performing leading roles in celebrated works such as George Balanchine’s Diamonds, Agon, and Alexei Ratmansky’s Swan Lake.
Atkins’ ascent to principal dancer was marked by standout performances that drew critical acclaim. Her appearances at national galas and special performances have further solidified her reputation, allowing her to share the stage with leading artists and to represent Miami City Ballet at high-profile events. She was a Princess Grace Award nominee during her tenure with Boston Ballet spanning from 2011 to 2021, where she performed principal and soloist roles in a range of productions before joining Miami City Ballet in 2021.
