He began his formal ballet training with Marisa Paull, followed by studies at the Kansas City Ballet School and Kansas School of Classical Ballet. At 16, he received a full scholarship to train at the Miami City Ballet School. He later danced with Pennsylvania Ballet II and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, performing works by Balanchine, Robbins, and Wheeldon.

He was selected for the New York Choreographic Institute and has presented work at the Guggenheim’s Works & Process and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Miami. His choreography has been praised for its sharp musicality and fresh take on classical vocabulary, bringing a contemporary energy to ballet’s traditional forms.

Currently, Verzola serves as a full-time faculty member and resident choreographer for Miami City Ballet School, where he also leads the Choreographic Intensive, continuing to shape the next generation of dancers and creators.
