Executive Director
The Executive Director (“ED”) will be a working partner with the Artistic Director (“AD”) and the Board, who together set and achieve the overall vision and strategy for the company. The ED will design and implement a sustainable financial model and continually improve the bottom line through increased income generation and careful expense control. The ED will direct all business aspects of the Company, the School, and Community Engagement, ensuring MCB maintains its long-standing reputation as a premier producer of ballet, esteemed training ground for professional dancers, and deeply relevant catalyst for arts education, engagement, and expression in South Florida. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, the ED will safeguard the organization’s long-term growth and vitality. Along with the Artistic Director, the ED will be a key external representative and spokesperson for MCB, engaging major individual donors, the business community, philanthropic and community partners, media and the government. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the AD and Board of Trustees in setting and achieving a strategic vision that expands MCB’s reach, revenue, and relevance;
  • Through collaboration, innovation, and a data-informed perspective, design and drive a comprehensive business plan that aligns artistic ambition with financial sustainability for the entire organization, including the School;
  • Build and motivate a high-performing professional management team, recruiting, mentoring, and empowering talented professionals to achieve organizational goals;
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report progress toward strategic objectives, providing solutions and adjustments as needed;
  • With the Senior Director of Development, develop and direct a successful strategy for institutional advancement, diversifying and growing contributed revenue streams;
  • With the support of the Board, AD, and others, spearhead the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations; The ED will personally manage a portfolio of key major donors and high-potential prospects;
  • With the Chief Marketing Officer and AD, develop and direct a successful strategy to optimize the earned revenue potential of the company, including developing new revenue streams outside the main season programming;
  • With the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Committee, develop the annual budget, multi-year financial goals, and cash-flow projects and set policies that result in sound fiscal management and operations;
  • With the Senior Director of Human Resources, champion a People Operations strategy to foster a culture of excellence, unity, inclusion, and humanity;
  • With the Director of Community Engagement and AD, advance an outreach strategy that maximizes impact and achieves desired outcomes in education, audience development, and funding;

QUALIFICATIONS

The next Executive Director of Miami City Ballet will be a strategic, visionary leader with the depth and breadth of experience required to assume responsibility for the varied and complex functions of this role with confidence and agility. This individual will bring a proven track record of success in nonprofit arts management and possess an acute understanding of the unique and intricate business model of a ballet company of this size and stature. They will be an expert partner to the Artistic Director and Board in sound decision-making and demonstrate exceptional business acumen, coupled with the entrepreneurial ingenuity to diversify and expand earned revenue streams. A passionate advocate for the organization, the ED must embrace the role of chief fundraiser, engaging comfortably and effectively with donors, patrons, and a broad spectrum of stakeholders. THE ROLE 
The Creative Services Manager is the liaison for internal and external stakeholders at Miami City Ballet for design and creative projects that are the basis for marketing campaigns that promote a broad range of MCB performances, events and initiatives.  

Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing, the Creative Services Manager plays an integral role in the project process management from conception to completion, including traditional and digital marketing collateral, content pieces, photo and video production. Responsibilities include interpreting briefs, managing timelines, liaising with external mailing houses, printers and theaters, traffic management, routing projects for approvals and other related duties. 

This role requires a consistently high level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in daily work. An individual with excellent organization skills and energy will thrive in this multi-faceted role and fast-pace environment. The role requires an ability to respond to requests swiftly and with flexibility, while not losing sight of deadlines and priorities.

The ideal candidate will add to the fabric of this close-knit team, eager to jump in and fill in gaps and assist colleagues and who enjoys collaborating on a multitude of projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Creative Services Project Management

  • Responsible for project planning, budget and quality
  • Acting as the project manager, work closely with the Director of Marketing, venues, digital agency and media agency on advertising schedules, ensuring assets are delivered on time.
  • Coordinate the production of collateral, including but not limited to: brochures, print ads, venue signage, outdoor advertising, videos, social media content, static and dynamic digital display ads, event collateral, invitations.
  • Supervise in-house Graphic Designer to set priorities, ensure tasks are completed on time and efficiently.
  • Drive compliance/adherence to brand build lines across internal/external teams, agencies, third party partners
  • Set up briefing meetings, build and communicate timelines. Maintain detailed records of projects, segmentation and strategies. Ensure briefing and project processes are followed cross-departmentally.
  • Responsible for the approval and proofing process for marketing collateral including funder credits and recognition requirements are met.
  • Coordinate the print process and complex mailing projects for subscriptions and singe ticket marketing campaigns with internal team members, external printers and mailing houses.
  • Negotiate with vendors to ensure effective budget spending, quality of projects and attentiveness to timelines/deadlines

Content and Publications

  • Work closely with the marketing team to coordinate the development and production of content
  • Source/research necessary assets needed, i.e. images, music tracks, archival footage.
  • Project manage the creation of MCB digital program books; proof-reading and reviewing designs for quality control; Manage trafficking and sign-off from internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate design and production of performance casting sheets and program sheets.

Photography and Video

  • Route photos and video for approval from dancers, artistic staff and other parties as required.
  • Ensure that internal asset files are updated and always organized.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing on the coordination and execution of photo and video shoots and assignments.

General

  • Coordinates and processes departmental invoices in the AP system in a timely manner; tracks expenditures in MCB departmental marketing budgets, reconciling with monthly statements from Finance to ensure accuracy of postings.
  • Adhere to Company brand and tone of voice guidelines as outlined in various marketing strategies for all communications.
  • Be an active participant in agreed cross-departmental teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ professional marketing experience coordinating projects and/or operations; some experience in an agency setting or working with creative/media agencies is desired.
  • Proven project management experience in setting priorities, developing schedules and monitoring progress toward goals.
  • Knowledge of graphic design process, briefing process, pre-press requirements for print and mailing process, photo shoot production.
  • High level attention to detail, excellent copy writing, grammar and proof-reading skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Excellent PC IT skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (i.e.  Asana) and an ability to learn new programs if required.
  • An interest in performing arts/entertainment/cultural/creative industries

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Premiere)
  • Editing skills and some knowledge of Final Cut Pro X or similar

Summer Resident Assistant/Summer Intensive (RA)

Position: Summer Resident Assistant/Summer Intensive (RA), MCB School 5-Week Intensive
Weekly Pay: $700.00, plus Rooming Accommodations
Schedule: June 19 – July 25, 2026

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, energetic, and mature professional to provide programs and services to support students aged 12-20 at the Miami City Ballet School. Reporting directly to the Housing Manager, this is a paid seasonal temporary position with the MCB School and includes apartment style housing at The Tradewinds (2365 Pine Tree Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139) or MCB School Residence Hall, Collins Pointe, (224 23 St. Miami Beach, FL 33139). The RA will assist the Manager with implementing processes and procedures that ensure a healthy, safe, and thriving environment.  The RA position is a live-in, five-week professional staff position integral to the success of the department and school.  

The RA assists with the supervision of students as well as the development and implementation of educational programming with Tradewinds Apartments and MCBS facility. The RA is allowed 1 day off each week, which is always on a weekday.  Time off schedule will be assigned prior to the start of the program. This is a live-in position with on-call requirements that are necessary to maintain the integrity of the residential living program.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 22 years of age.
  • Priority will be given to candidates with previous resident advisor/director or chaperone experience.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who have professional educational (K-12 system) and/or professional mental health experience.

This position is responsible for facilitating the physical fulfillment of the Artistic vision for all company and MCB School performances.  This role is also responsible for overseeing and managing all theatre operations from load-in to rehearsal, performance and load out, and for the safe operations of all facility and theatre activity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct the preparation, creation, maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of all theatrical equipment. 
  • Hire, manage, and supervise full-time, seasonal, part-time, contracted, Union and Production staff.  Serve as primary interface with all venue-provided labor. 
  • Create all technical drawings and paperwork necessary for the installation of the productions into and out of the theatre.  With the General Manager, negotiate and manage all Scenic, Lighting, Sound and Special Effects design and consultant contracts.  Negotiate and manage all lighting equipment, scenic construction, and equipment transportation as well as purchase and rental activities. 
  • Assist the Production Stage Manager in the creation of the general Production Schedule for each main stage production.  Manage all staff in the achievement of that schedule. 
  • Create and track annual operating budget for the Production Department.  Oversee the accounting and reporting of Production department finances.  Review, approve, and track all accounts payable for Production department invoices and payroll. 
  • Create all technical drawings necessary for the bidding for and/or construction of any new production.  Oversee, manage, and actively create any new scenery, prop, road box or storage crate construction. 
  • Provide Company Manager any necessary logistical and technical information necessary for the pursuit of international and domestic touring engagements.  Author Technical Riders for all international and domestic touring. 
  • Responsible for warehouse/workshop operations and the safe storage, maintenance and inventory of all physical production equipment therein. 
  • Act as reference, advisor, and facilitator to all departments in areas of production, i.e. special events, marketing, development, and community engagement events requiring technical support, transportation, permitting, or Company or School dancers, both inside and outside the company’s facilities. 
  • Other duties as assigned by General Manager and Artistic Director. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum of five years related field experience in theatrical technical production with some experience in a major national performing arts center at the equivalent scale (in terms of crew, lighting, scenery, etc.) of Miami City Ballet productions
  • Touring experience highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and team building skills
  • Ability to lead, supervise, and coordinate administrative and production staff as well as provide support for designers and artistic staff
  • Lead crews effectively
  • Experience working with IATSE crews and working conditions
  • Computer skills – Microsoft office, Cad, Microsoft outlook

JOB SUMMARY
The Audience Services Representative (ASR) is the first point of customer contact and is responsible for providing the customer with the best impression of the Miami City Ballet. Remote work is available throughout the year when no onsite or in-venue service activations occur.

Key responsibilities include delivering excellent customer care for all customers and prospects of MCB:

  • Managing inquiries and communications with customers across several communication channels.
  • Acknowledge and resolve customer concerns and complaints.
  • Knowledgeable about the MCB as an organization, familiarity with the company of dancers, our season, and events/performances inside and out to answer questions
  • Communicate and coordinate with colleagues as necessary
  • Provide ongoing feedback on the efficiency of the customer service process

  • Fulfill and generate ticket sales, subscriptions and payments

RESPONSIBILITIES

Relationship management

Take and fill ticket orders for individual ticket purchases over the telephone and at the box office window.

  • Respond promptly and thoroughly to customer inquiries; Resolve customer complaints efficiently and strive to deliver customer satisfaction
  • Build rapport, on-going relationships, and credibility with customers by delivering consistent and excellent customer care, anticipating their needs (and objectives of the customer) and initiate any service recovery.
  • Understand and provide information: seating, prices, fees, and sections of multiple venues, as well as parking options and directions and related information to help provide optimal customer experience.
  • Provide customers insight and updates on the season, programs, and various subscription package and product options, in order to increase sales, engagement and/or customer service.
  • Explain provide upgrade options and fill orders for interested patrons.
  • Assist patrons/subscribers with ticket exchanges.
  • Provide assistance and support for ticketing matters for internal department needs.

Data Management

  • Process all transactions through Tessitura.
  • Create and maintain accurate customer data in Tessitura.
  • Provide daily payment settlements to management; ensure final report balances credit cards, cash, and check transactions.
  • Filling in CSI’s to capture customer feedback after shows, etc.

Other:

  • Prepare tickets for mailing or will call as needed.
  • Correspond with customers via email, phone or any other written documentation is imperative.
  • Contribute and assist in various CR-related administrative tasks and duties to support smooth-running CR operations.
  • Work collaboratively with organizational colleagues across the organization.
  • Share frontline customer feedback with Marketing and Development team as appropriate.

On-site service:

  • Provide customer/subscriber and relationship management support on performance weekends and locations.
  • Provide clerk duties at the MCB Store, both on-location and at various performance venues.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with customer support.
  • Comfortable using computers and databases.
  • Knowledgeable in Excel, Microsoft Word, Tessitura knowledge ideal, training provided for Tessitura.
  • Ability to use database software; maintain accurate electronic records—tessitura knowledge ideal.
  • Interest and desire to have strong Product/Service knowledge – From common issues to upgrades, CRR has and pursues knowledge about the organization, season programs, dancers, and other info relevant to offer customers.
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, interpersonal, and written – Ability to hear customer suggestions and complaints, respond accordingly and clearly while flexible to adapt message and style to various customer types.
  • Time management – Responding to customers promptly and resolving issues, good management skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Miami City Ballet’s Director of Community Engagement and the Dance Education Programs Manager, Teaching Artists are practicing artists in Dance, Arts Education, and Performing Arts committed to working with young people of varied abilities. Miami City Ballet’s Community Engagement programs, including STEAM+, Explore Dance, M.C.B.’s Masterclass Series, and Miami City Ballet’s Palm Beach Summer Dance Camp, bring high-quality arts enrichment to the youth of South Florida by working through established after-school and year-round programs at Miami-Dade County Title I Public Schools, Partnering Community Organizations, K-12 Performing Arts Schools as well as Performing Arts magnet schools.

Applicants must demonstrate expertise working as professional dance teaching artists, the ability to set choreography for students of varied abilities, basic curriculum standards to teach Ballet Fundamentals, Creative Movement practices, the ability to produce Culminating Event performances, experience in lesson planning and arts integration curriculum writing, strong communication, and interpersonal skills, facilitating group decision-making, handling multiple tasks simultaneously, and strong attention to detail.

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION:

This is an independent contractor position. Applicants must have availability to work during and after school hours, on occasional weekends, and during the day in the summers. Teaching Artists should have the ability to travel throughout the South Florida tri-county region to various residency sites. A full residency ranges between 5-25 weeks (according to each program) and ends in a culminating performance. Teaching Artists earn $50/hour to instruct and $25/hour for lesson planning, and mileage reimbursement for instruction provided outside of Miami-Dade County.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:

Direct instruction with students in Kinder-12th Grade using guidelines of the Florida Arts Standards, MDCPS STEAM+ Rubric, and Miami City Ballet Fundamentals Curriculum. Planning and executing arts programming appropriate for specific age groups, attending professional development workshops and meetings, and carrying out administrative responsibilities (such as submitting written lesson plans, student pre-and post-assessments, timecards, student evaluations, and other duties as assigned). TAs selected for employment must also attend a 3-day training session held at Miami City Ballet from September 28th – 30th, 2022.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum (4) years of teaching experience and substantial training in Dance Education. Strong content knowledge in classical ballet, performance, and stage work. Commitment to serving children in typically under-represented communities. Must be culturally competent to work with a diverse student body and students with special needs. Must be adaptable to instruction in non-traditional dance spaces. Excellent verbal and written commutation skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with adults and children. Instructors with proficiency in Spanish are encouraged to apply. Instructors with varied dance genre teaching experience with a strong ballet foundation are welcome to apply.
